The Oklahoma State University (OSU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KNUST to enhance collaborative research, specifically in the area of agriculture between the two institutions.
In an address, the leader of the delegation, Mr. Mike Dicks who is also the Chairman of International Trade Development of the College of Agriculture, Oklahoma State University, USA, described the institutional partnership as an opportunity for his Faculty to establish acquaintance with Ghana and Africa at large through capacity building. He hoped that, the introduction of students exchange activities would benefit both institutions through experiential learning strategy.
In a statement, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor William O. Ellis, described the collaboration as exclusive considering that, both institutions would benefit tremendously in agriculture and other areas. Professor Ellis recommended that details of the MOU be worked out to facilitate the collaboration in good time.
Professor Ellis presented souvenirs of the University to the delegation from OSU, USA. Other members from Oklahoma State University who accompanied Mr. Mike Dicks were: Alyssa Peterson and Annie Nsafoah.
Among the dignitaries present from KNUST were: Professor Peter Donkor, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Mr. Kobby Yebo-Okrah, Registrar; Rev. Dr. Paul K. Boafo, the Protestant Chaplain; Professor Edward Badu, the Provost of the College of Architecture and Planning; Professor Kwaku Obiri Danso, Dean of International Programmes Office and Mr. Solomon Panford, the University Relations Officer.
